Fab Four star, Steve Smith scripted history in the on-going Australia versus Sri Lanka as he became the 5th fastest cricketer to complete 10,000 Test runs. The moment occurred during the 1st Test match between the two nations at the Galle International Cricket Stadium.
Earlier Smith missed this opportunity in the Border Gavaskar Trophy, where he was only a single run away from completing this massive milestone. However, he made sure that his fans did not have to wait any more as he struck on his very first ball and reached the feat with a single. He raised his bat in acknowledgement as Usman Khawaja and the fans at the stadium congratulated him for this once in a lifetime achievement.

Smith Becomes 4th Australian To Achieve This Feat
Smith became the fastest player to reach 10,000 Test runs, achieving the milestone in just 205 innings. This remarkable feat came during Australia's tour of Sri Lanka in 2025, when Smith flicked it for a single and thus reached this milestone in 205 innings. His innings surpassed the previous record held by Rahul Dravid, who had reached 10,000 runs in 206 innings.
