Sri Lankan opener Pathum Nissanka had a memorable outing in the second Test against Bangladesh as he hammered a magnificent century on day 2 of the match. After Bangladesh posted 247 runs on the board, Sri Lanka responded strongly with the bat, riding on Nissanka's stellar ton.
Nissanka Leads Lankan Dominance With Sublime Ton
In response to Bangladesh's first innings score, Sri Lanka had a solid start to their innings, with Pathum Nissanka and Lahiru Udara stitching a valuable 88-run partnership for the first wicket. Although Udara missed his fifty by a margin of ten runs, Nissanka breached the 50-run mark and eventually went on to convert it into a memorable hundred.
The stylish batter thus became the sixth Sri Lankan batter to score a hundred against Bangladesh at Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo. Moreover, he is the third Lankan opener to register a Test century against the Tigers at the iconic venue.

Pathum Nissanka has enjoyed stellar success in the ongoing Test series against Bangladesh. Overall, this is his fourth Test hundred, and he also smashed a glorious 256-ball 187 in the previous encounter at Galle International Stadium.
Besides Nissanka and Udara, former captain Dinesh Chandimal also starred with the bat for the hosts. The Sri Lankan number three notched up another flamboyant half-century, forming a valiant stand with Nissankan for the second wicket.
Bangladesh bowlers have been lacklustre, allowing Sri Lanka to claim the driving seat in the deciding affair. As of writing, the home side was comfortably placed at 204 for one, with Nissanka and Chandimal batting on 102* and 59*, respectively.
