The final showdown of the IPL 2024 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Sunday, 26 May, has been nothing short of thrilling as Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) battle it out for the coveted title. 

The match has seen its fair share of twists and turns, with SRH struggling to find stability against a dominant KKR bowling attack.

Despite SRH's attempts to build a competitive total, wickets fell at regular intervals, keeping KKR in the driver's seat. Enter Abdul Samad, who was expected to stabilize the innings and steer SRH towards a respectable score. However, the mighty KKR, riding high on their momentum, quickly dashed those hopes.

In the 13th over, Andre Russell came into the attack and struck gold, delivering a crucial breakthrough by dismissing Abdul Samad. Samad, batting at number eight, managed only four runs before falling victim to Russell's skillful bowling.

Russell's delivery, slightly fuller than a good length and positioned outside off, tempted Samad into a risky drive away from his body. The ball caught the outside edge of Samad's bat, and Rahmanullah Gurbaz behind the stumps showcased his agility with a spectacular dive to his right, securing a magnificent catch.

At the time of writing, SRH are reeling at 90 for 8 in 15 over.
