Sri Lanka A will take on Oman A in Match 10 of the ongoing fifth edition of the ACC Emerging Asia Cup 2023 on Tuesday, July 18th at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Both the teams are playing their group fixture and will be looking to finish the group stage on a high.


Team Preview

Sri Lanka A

Sri Lanka A started their campaign on a high, beating Bangladesh A in the first match of the tournament. However, they failed to carry the winning momentum and faced an 11-run defeat in a high octane game against Afghanistan A.

The bowling attack has been doing fine but skipper Dunith Wellalage will hope to see his batters have a better day in the middle after the poor outing against Afghanistan A. Except the centurion Minod Bhanuka, not a single batter got themselves going in the chase during the last game.

The hosts are currently placed third in the group and will be keen to come back into winning ways. The Lankans need to win their last group match against Oman A and by a fair margin to keep themselves alive in the semi-final race.

On the other hand, Oman A lost each of their first two games against Afghanistan A and Bangladesh A. As a result they are placed at the bottom of the group with no chance to qualify for the knockouts stage.

The Omanis failed to make it to the knockouts in their last two participations and the story remains the same this time as well.

This will be the second match of the tournament at the R. Premadasa Stadium. The pitch at this venue is always expected to be a balanced one for a 50-over game.
