Riding on the back of a brilliant bowling performance, India A bowled Nepal A out for a paltry 167 inside 40 overs in the first innings in their second group match of the ongoing fifth edition of the ACC Men’s Emerging Asia Cup.

Chennai Super Kings’ young sensation left-spinner Nishant Sindhu and pacer Rajvardhan Hangargekar were the pick of the bowlers.

After electing to bat first, Nepal A had a horrific start as they lost five wickets with only 37 runs on the board in the first powerplay. Harshit Rana scalped two wickets while Hangargekar, who was playing his first match of the tournament, finished the powerplay with three wickets.

Following the powerplay, skipper Rohit Paudel alongside Sompal Kami and Gulshan Jha tried to rebuild the innings. Paudel completed his half century and Nepal A were slowly coming back into the game.

Subsequently, Sindhu, who came to the attack in the 34th over, removed Paudel for 65 and went on to take the remaining three wickets and bowled Nepal A out for just 167. Sindhu finished with a remarkable figure of 4 for 14 in just 3.2 overs.

India A has won their first match against UAE A and are placed at the top of their group. They will be now looking to chase down 168 against Nepal A in this match and sustain their top position of the group with two wins in a row.

At the time of writing, India A have begun their chase on a positive note as Sai Sudharsan and Abhishek Sharma have given them a flying start.
