In a remarkable achievement, ace Bangladesh speedster Shoriful Islam scripted history on the opening day of the Bangladesh Premier League 2024, claiming a sensational hattrick in the first game. Shoriful, representing Durdanto Dhaka in the competition, achieved the phenomenal feat during his team's ongoing encounter against Comilla Victorians.
Bowling the final over of the Victorians' innings, Shoriful had a horrible beginning, conceding consecutive sixes on the second and third delivery. However, he bounced back remarkably, dismissing Khushdil Shah off the fourth ball of his over.
The left-arm pacer continued his onslaught on the Victorians and got rid of Roston Chase and Mahidul Islam Akon in the last two balls, claiming a hattrick in this process.
