Sharjah Stadiums Honours Sachin Tendulkar On His 50th Birthday

In 2010, at the behest of local cricketing patron Abdul Rahman Bukhatir, the Sharjah Cricket Stadium became the home ground for the Afghanistan cricket team for One Day International and first-class matches. However, in 2016, they changed it to Greater Noida Stadium in Noida.

Further, the stadium hogged headlines when Sachin Tendulkar played the famous duststorm innings when he played a 143-run knock against Australia in 1998.

Thus, to honour Sachin Tendulkar's legacy, a Sachin Tendulkar Stand was initiated on the occasion of Master Blaster's 50th birthday in 2023.

At the time of writing this article, Afghanistan are 15/1 and have lost Rahmanullah Gurbaz early on.
