India, as expected have been the better team in the ongoing T20I series against England. The visitors were expected to provide a stern test in the 5-match series, however, that has not been the case as India won the first two T20Is and lead England by 2-0, with three matches to spare.

The first T20I at the Eden Gardens was a one sided domination as the Indian batters crushed the England bowlers with utmost ease. Abhishek Sharma was the star with the bat as the team made a mockery of the low total.

The second T20I between the two teams was much closer as England improved their batting and also gave India a run for their money before Tilak Varma saved India's blushes with a calculative knock. It was Tilak's one-man brilliance which stole the show and gave India the victory.

England are looking for a comeback and they need to win the third T20I to keep their series hopes alive. Let us look at what happened at toss time.

India Vs England: Toss updates

India won the toss and Suryakumar Yadav once again decided to bowl first on a flat track. The captain was clear with his decision making, but made one surprising change in the playing XI.

Mohammed Shami returns to the team after 14 months and Arshdeep Singh has been rested for this T20I match. Shami last played for India during the 2023 World Cup finals and since then was out with an injury which sidelined him for the entirety of 2024.

Arshdeep Singh has been on the road for a while and hence, the skipper decided to rest him for this T20I clash.
