Sanju Samson is a street-smart keeper and is known for making sharp decisions behind the stumps. His exemplary decision-making skills were at full use during the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash between Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals at the Narendra Modi Stadium.
How Samson channeled his inner MSD
The two GT batters, Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler were going all guns blazing as they were taking apart the RR bowling with utmost ease. The duo had added 80 runs for the second wicket and Rajasthan needed a miracle to make a comeback in the game. This is where Maheesh Theekshana bowled a carrom ball as Buttler missed it and copped a blow on the front-leg.
There was a loud appeal from the RR side but the umpire declined it. Samson, immediately went for thre DRS sign and he was proven right as the ball was going on to hit the stumps as Samson's DRS masterclass broke the partnership.
He emulated CSK legend, MS Dhoni who is known for taking smart DRS calls behind the stumps.
GT eyeing 200-run mark
Despite losing Shubman Gill early, GT batters, Jos Buttler and Sai Sudharsan took the RR bowlers to the cleaners and they were taken aback after the assault from the two batters. However, Buttler's dismissal turned the tides as RR got a couple of more inroads.
However, despite this, Sudharsan is batting strong and is eyeing a sensational hundred as GT are getting closer to the 200-run mark and are 174/4 inside 17 overs.
