Promising batter Aniket Verma had a memorable outing for Sunrisers Hyderabad, as he struck a blazing knock in the ongoing IPL 2025 match against Delhi Capitals. The middle-order batter hammered 74 runs off just 41 balls, ensuring a respectable score for his team.

Renowned for his scintillating stroke play, Aniket Verma was scouted by the Sunrisers for his exceptional outing in the domestic circuit. The power-hitter was purchased for INR 30 lakhs in last year's IPL 2025 mega auction. Notably, this was his base price and SRH was the only team who raised the paddle for him. 

How Did SRH Scout Aniket Verma? 

Aniket Verma grabbed the limelight through a string of extraordinary performances in the MP T20 league last year. Apart from a blistering 41-ball 123 against Malwa Panthers, Aniket played some outrageous knocks throughout the tournament. 

Overall, he smashed 273 runs at an average of 54.60 and a strike rate of 195 in the tournament. Considering his hard-hitting prowess, SRH bagged him for his base price in the auction.

Riding on Mitchell Starc's extraordinary opening spell, DC reduced SRH to 37 for four in quick time. However, Aniket Verma's scintillating knock and Heinrich Klaasen's valuable cameo ensured SRH breached the 150-run mark. As of writing, the visitors were 157 for eight, with Harshal and Wiaan Mulder batting on 4* and 6*, respectively.
