Sachin Baby Returns After 4 Years: List Of Players With Biggest Gap Between Two IPL Appearances

On Monday, May 5, Sunrisers Hyderabad locked horns against Delhi Capitals at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium. It is a do-or-die match for the Men in Orange as they are placed ninth on the table with just three wins in 10 matches. For the ongoing match, the Pat Cummins-led side have made several changes as Mohammed Shami, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Kamindu Mendis were left out of the playing XI, while Sachin Baby made a return to the league after four years.

Notably, Sachin, who last played an IPL match in 2021 for Royal Challengers Bengaluru against Kolkata Knight Riders. It is worth noting that he is returning to the league after 1323 days (3 years, 7 months and 15 days). While, he is returning after nearly four years, lets look at players with biggest gap in two IPL appearances.

1. Harpreet Singh Bhatia - 3981 Days

Harpreet Singh Bhatia, who played for Pune Warriors India in 2012, returned to IPL after a gap of 11 years as he played for Punjab Kings in 2023. 

2. Matthew Wade - 3962 Days

Matthew Wade is second on the list as he represented Gujarat Titans in 2022 and before that he was part of Delhi Capitals in 2012. 

3. Wayne Parnell - 3242 Days

Parnell returned to IPL in the 16th edition where he played for RCB and before that, the South Africa all-rounder was part of Delhi Capitals in 2014.

4. Rilee Rossouw - 2899 Days

Rossouw last featured for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2023, but before that, he featured for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2015. 

5. Colin Ingram - 2019 Days

Unlike others, Colin Ingram was part of Delhi Capitals in 2011 campaign and returned for his next match in 2019 for the Capitals.
