MI Cape Town emerged as new champions of SA20 League as they beat Sunrisers Eastern Cape by 76 runs in the Final match of the SA20 League 2025 in Johannesburg.
It was a pretty one-sided affair at the end as MI Cape Town dominated the game entirely and got hands on their maiden title.
Meanwhile, Sunrisers should be proud of their campaign as they nearly pulled off their third SA20 title in a row.

MI vs Sunrisers Highlights: Sunrisers hit back after MI Cape Town dominated the powerplay.
After opting to bat first, MI Cape Town had a very good start as they managed almost ten runs per over in the powerplay before losing Ryan Rickelton who got out after a brisk 33(15).
Richard Gleeson came into the attack to wrap up the powerplay and MI Cape Town lost another wicket to finish the powerplay with 52 for 2 on the board.
Rassie van der Dussen started slowly and failed to convert his start with MICT limited to three down 76 on the board at the halfway mark.
MI vs Sunrisers Highlights: Dewald Brevis' cameo turned the momentum of the innings.
After the 10-over mark, George Linde tried to counter attack but failed after hitting two sixes in an over to Liam Dawson.
Then comes Dewald Brevis at 6, who continued the onslaught against Dawson and MICT got a good foundation to finish the innings well. Brevis got out after a brilliant 18-ball 38 and MICT went on to post a total of 181 runs in their 20 overs.
MI vs Sunrisers Highlights: Boult, Rabada strike early as MICT bossed the powerplay with the ball.
Chasing 182, Sunrisers didn't have a good start as they lost two wickets early in the powerplay. Both Kagiso Rabada and Trent Boult took one wicket each and the defending champions finished the powerplay with 34 for 2.
Qualifier 2 hero Tony de Zorzi was joined by Tom Abell at four as the duo started to rebuild the innings. There definitely was an over where the Sunrisers seemed to open their hands but George Linde removed Abell and got the much needed breakthrough before finishing the 10th over.
MI vs Sunrisers Highlights: Rabada finished with 4-fer as Sunrisers lost their way out.
Following the halfway mark, Rashid Khan removed de Zorzi and skipper Aiden Markram failed to get going as well. Eventually, the entire batting line-up of the Sunrisers collapsed and MICT were cruising towards their maiden title.
Sunrisers Eastern Cape got wrapped up for 105 with eight balls remaining as MI Cape Town won the final quite comfortably towards the end to clinch their maiden SA20 title.
With the ball, it was an all-round performance from the men in blue and gold with Kagiso Rabada leading the pack with a 4-wicket haul. Kiwi speedster Trent Boult also had a good game, taking 2 wickets and giving away just 9 runs in his four.
