South Africa would be delighted to see themselves back to winning ways as they got the better of India in the second ODI at Gqebera. After an embarrassing performance in the first ODI, Aiden Markram and co, desperate for a comeback, had a much better all-round performance to stop these high flying men in blue and kept themselves alive in the series.

Nandre Burger, who went wicketless in his ODI debut in Johannesburg, was the star with the ball for the hosts. The left-arm quick was very well accompanied by the rest of the bowling as South Africa restricted India to a below par total.

Meanwhile, Tony de Zorzi did the major destruction with the bat as he led the Proteas home in the chase with a magnificent maiden ODI century. Overall, a much more confident unit which would like to keep up with the momentum and clinch the series in Paarl.

From the brilliance of Johannesburg to the bruise of Gqebera, team India failed to sustain their winning form and take an unassailable lead going forward to the third encounter in Paarl.

Except the young Sai Sudharsan and skipper KL Rahul, none of the Indian batters could battle it out on what seemed to be a tricky surface to bat first. Arshdeep Singh continued to be the shining light for India with the ball but 211 was never going to be enough unless the entire bowling unit kicked in.

Going into the third ODI, KL Rahul and his men would be trying to keep the last game behind and bring the best out of themselves in the decider to pull of their second ODI series victory in the rainbow nation.

SA vs IND 3rd ODI: Boland Park, Paarl, Pitch Report

The surface in Paarl is generally a balanced one for a 50-over game. Teams have got more success batting first here at this venue in the recent past. There might not be any spongy bounce as we got in the previous two games, but still enough help for the bowlers to deceive the batters. Unlike the first two games, the team winning the toss in Paarl is expected to bat first.
