Quinton de Kock has been an enigma over the years. There has been plenty of talk about his retirement in such and early age and many have questioned his commitment for South Africa. However, he is proving his distractors wrong in this World Cup 2023 as the man is showing tremendous consistency to back up truckloads of talent he possesses. He started off the World Cup with a bang, smashing two consecutive centuries and after couple of failures, he has once again started well with a fifty against Bangladesh.

Quinton de Kock looks a determined man in this World Cup and is displaying great maturity with the way he is going about his business. He is not playing an ultra-aggressive brand of cricket which he can surely play, but is mixing caution with aggression beautifully to pace his innings according to the demands of the game.

However, whenever the opportunity arised, he grabbed it with both hands, smashing his fifty in just 47 balls. South Africa lost two early wickets much to the surprise of their fans as the pitch is a belter to bat on. Reeza Hendricks was knocked over by a beautiful inswinger by Shoriful Islam and then Mehidy Hasan got the big wicket of Rassie van der Dussen.

Aiden Markram joined Quinny after the early hiccups and since then both of them have shown great composure to take South Africa to safer shores. At the time of writing, South Africa are 99-2 at the end of 20 overs.
