Rohit Sharma gives captaincy tips to Hardik Pandya [Source: JioHotstar]
On April 4, former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma was unable to play in the IPL match between MI and LSG at Ekana Cricket Stadium due to a knee injury. However, he was present in the team's dugout to support his players.
Rohit’s Sharp Plan Sets Up Pooran’s Fall at the Hands of Hardik Pandya
Rohit, who has won 5 IPL titles as captain, took the opportunity to share his valuable advice with the current MI captain, Hardik Pandya, during a drinks break. At that time, the LSG batsmen were hitting the MI bowlers hard, and Rohit offered some tips to help get a breakthrough.
During the break, Rohit was seen walking over to MI's huddle, possibly sharing his experience with the team. His guidance seemed to pay off, as soon after, Mitchell Marsh was dismissed in the 7th over of LSG’s innings. This was the first breakthrough for MI.
And with Rohit Sharma's advice, Hardik Pandya also managed to break the growing partnership between Nicholas Pooran and Aiden Markram, helping MI get back into the game.
It was a back-of-a-length off-cutter from the skipper, and Pooran went for the pull shot—only to mistime it straight to Deepak Chahar at short fine leg. The LSG batter walked back after scoring 12 runs.
Meanwhile, at the time of writing, LSG are closing in on the 190-run mark, with David Miller and Shardul Thakur holding the crease.
