In the first Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh, the hosts declared their innings after posting 448/6 on the board.

Pakistan were 16/3 at one point, but centuries from Saud Shakeel and Mohammad Rizwan helped the Shan Masood-led side put a good total on the board.

Talking about Rizwan, he was the top-scorer for Pakistan as he amassed 171 (239), which included 11 fours and three sixes. Rizwan was unbeaten till the end of the first innings as Pakistan had to declare their innings because a lot of time was wasted on day 1, because of rain.

Meanwhile, Rizwan also entered the history books after his century as he became the fifth Pakistani keeper to score 150+ runs in an innings. He now stands alongside legends like Imtiaz Ahmed, Taslim Arif, Rashid Latif, and Kamran Akmal.

It is the first time since 2009 that a Pakistani keeper has scored 150+ score in a Test innings.

A Valuable 240 Runs Stand With Saud Shakeel

Rizwan was assisted well by Saud Shakeel as the duo stitched a 240-runs stand. Meanwhile, Shakeel too entered the history books after scoring a century. Notably, Shakeel is the joint-fastest Pakistani batter to reach 1000 runs. He took just 20 innings to reach the milestone.

At the time of writing this article, Bangladesh are 6/0 with Shadman Islam and Zakir Hasan opening the innings for The Tigers.
