The evening is glittery again as the Royal Challengers Bengaluru are facing the Gujarat Titans in their first home game. The beginning thing didn’t show up on RCB’s favor as the GT bowlers shattered their batting lineup.
As the cricket world was on their toes to watch the Virat-Siraj face off, the bowler didn’t offend the fans and showcased magic. However, in their first home game of the season, RCB etched an unfortunate record into the books.
RCB's Homecoming Marred By Unwanted Record
After starting the 2025 season with two consecutive blazing victorious, RCB’s homecoming at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium didn’t turn out to be as expected. While batting first, the Patidar and Co. crumbled against GT’s bowling brilliance. Consecutive blows hit them hard.
Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal, and Rajat Patidar’s consecutive dismissals within the powerplay deepened their woes. In the first six overs, RCB put on a total of 38/3, marking the second-lowest powerplay score in IPL 2025.
With that, they surpassed the Lucknow Super Giants, who scored 39/3 in powerplay against the Punjab Kings in the last match. The Chennai Super Kings are still holding the first place as they scored 30/3 against RCB this season.

RCB Aiming For A Strong Comeback After Early Stumbles
While facing the Royal Challengers Bengaluru at their home ground, the Gujarat Titans bowlers gave a dreamy start to their innings. After Arshad Khan cleaned up Kohli, Siraj deepened the woes after picking up Padikkal and Salt consecutively. Patidar also walked away, scoring only 12 runs.
After losing four wickets in just 42 runs, Jitesh Sharma and Liam Livingstone crafted a crucial 52-run partnership before Livingstone walked away scoring 33 runs in 21 deliveries. After that, Jitesh Sharma and Tim David are looking forward to boost their innings.
