In the ongoing third Test between India and England at Lord's, Ravindra Jadeja rose to the occasion and brought up his 25th Test fifty. The southpaw walked in to bat when the visitors were 248/4 and showed calmness and maturity to reach an 87-ball fifty.

Sword Celebration Takes Over Lord's

The 36-year-old pulled out his trademark sword celebration as he smashed his third consecutive fifty-plus score in this series. Jadeja is in sublime form with the bat, having had a dream game in Edgbaston, where he scored a half-century in both innings, and now has followed it up with another fifty at Lord's.

The left-handed batter scored 89 in the first innings and followed it up with an unbeaten 69 in the second innings of the Edgbaston Test, helping India register their first-ever win over England at that venue.

Jadeja Scores Three Consecutive Fifties for the First Time in His Career

It is worth noting that Jadeja has four Test hundreds and 25 Test fifties, but this is the first time in his career that the 36-year-old has scored three fifty-plus scores in a single series. Jadeja has scored two fifties in a series on several occasions, but this is the first time he can boast three fifty-plus scores in a series.

Jadeja has found success batting at No.6 for India in Tests as he has scored 800+ runs, including six fifty-plus scores in England, justifying his No.1 all-rounder status in ICC Test rankings.

Ravindra Jadeja Goes Past Cheteshwar Pujara

This was Jadeja's seventh fifty-plus score against England in England, taking him past Cheteshwar Pujara for the most fifty-plus scores against the Three Lions away from home.

Besides that, Jadeja now also has the third-most fifty-plus scores for India at No.6 or below in Tests, equalling VVS Laxman's tally with his 28th fifty-plus score.
