Afghanistan, ahead of their third and final ODI against Zimbabwe, won the toss and opted to bowl first on Saturday at Harare Sports Club, Harare. The hosts, who are winless in the three-match affair, preferred to chase in the final tie.

Unsurprisingly, Craig Ervine and Hashmatullah Shahidi walked into the middle for a coin toss, and it was the skipper from Zimbabwe who won the first mini-battle after Shahidi called it wrongly.

Zimbabwe made two changes, bringing in Joylord Gumbie and Wellington Masakadza for Dion Myers and Tinotenda Maposa. Afghanistan, on the other hand, replaced Fazalhaq Farooqi and Naveed Zadran with Fareed Ahmad Malik and debtant Bilal Sami.

Zimbabwe began the T20I series on a high note, winning by four wickets to kick things off. However, they lost the mojo from there on, suffering back-to-back defeats in the next two T20Is before making two more humiliating performances in the 50-over tie.

More importantly, they endured a hefty 232-run defeat before coming to this fixture.
