Punjab Kings opener, Prabhsimran Singh was one of the retained players for the franchise and he continues to grow his stocks with quick-fire starts for the franchise. In the clash against RCB, the Punjab opener gave a fiery start with the score of 33 off 17 and in the process went past Yuvraj Singh in a brilliant milestone.
PBKS opener overtakes Yuvi's numbers
Prabhsimran was at his aggressive best against RCB and smacked a couple of big hits and during the course of his knock, he went past Yuvraj Singh in terms of runs scored for the Punjab Kings.
For PBKS, Yuvraj had slammed 959 runs in 51 matches, at an average of 22.30, while Prabhsimran now has 965 runs, at an average of 22.97. However, his strike-rate is touching 150, while Yuvraj had a strike-rate of a mere 127.86. Ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, he was retained for 4 crores and throughout the season, the opener has laid a strong foundation despite not scoring big runs.
At the moment, Prabhsimran Singh is the 11th highest run-getter for Punjab, with KL Rahul, the former captain occupying the top spot.
Punjab struggling against RCB
In the ongoing contest, the openers gave a fiery start and added 42 runs in no time, but once Priyansh Arya was dismissed, wickets started to tumble at regular intervals with captan Shreyas Iyer also getting dismissed cheaply.
At the moment, PBKS are 4 down, with the score of 95, Josh Inglis and Shashank Singh have the task to resurrect the innings.
