Who has Romario Shepherd replaces [Source: @iplt20.com]
The inevitable happened as the Royal Challengers made one crucial change for the IPL 2025 match against the Punjab Kings. The RCB side suffered a heartbreaking defeat in the last game against the same opposition and will need to bounce back from the drubbing.
Fortunately for RCB, Rajat Patidar won the toss and elected to field first with the team making one key change - Romario Shepherd comes in for out of form Liam Livingstone.
Why has Romario Shepherd replaced Livingstone?
Liam Livingstone in the seven matches so far has blown hot and cold with just one fifty-plus score. He has looked out of sorts and his batting numbers have been average. Moreover, with the ball, the all-rounder hasn't contributed and hence, he was dropped.
In 7 matches he has only 87 runs, with an average of 17.40 and a strike-rate of 127.94 which is well below his usual standards.
On the other hand, Romario Shepherd can easily give 4 quality overs and can trouble PBKS batters who are generally tentative against hit the deck bowling, something which the West Indian bowler does. Plus, he can also come in at number 7 as a finisher and can easily clear any ground in the world with his T20 strike-rate of 148.52.
