Pakistan won the first T20I against Sri Lanka with utmost ease, and the second T20I was abandoned due to rain, and now, the caravan shifts towards the series finale as the 3rd game will be played at the Dambulla International Cricket Stadium on January 11.

While Pakistan has a chance to win the series with a win, Sri Lanka will look to bounce back after the drubbing in the first match.  Even before the series started, the Men in Green were the clear favourites to win the 3-matches, and they will once again start as the favourites as the Lankan Lions aim to regroup and win the series finale against a confident-looking Pakistan team.

However, just like the second T20I, rain could have its say in the 3rd game as well, and ahead of the crucial contest, we take a look at the weather report of Dambulla and what kind of pitch the curator will dish out for the series finale.

According to Accuweather, the third T20I between Sri Lanka and Pakistan could also be marred by rain, and the outcome will once again be hampered. The temperature will be around 20 degrees celsius, while the probability of precipitation is going to be around 55%.

There will be a cloud cover of 81% on Sunday, and this could help the seam bowlers get some movement in the initial few overs.

Expect a few overs to be lost since there is a rain prediction in the evening on Sunday, and this could frustrate the two sides, who are etching to test their bench strengths before the World Cup.

Traditionally, the Dambulla Cricket Stadium has favoured the spin-bowlers as the pitch tends to turn and is generally known as a bowling paradise. However, with rain anticipated, things could change as the cloud cover will allow the pacers to get into action and the batters will need to weather the early seam movement from the pitch.

However, as the game progresses, spinners will come into action in the middle-overs and batting in the second innings could get tough. A similar pattern occurred in the second innings of the first T20I, when Pakistan started strongly in the power-play, but they struggled for runs in the middle-overs.

Conclusion

Just like the second T20I, rain could have the last laugh on Sunday as well. The cloud cover will help the seamers get some early movement, but as history suggests, spinners will come into play eventually and the batters could have a hard time.
