Delhi Capitals keeper, Lizelle Lee, showcased her athleticism in the WPL clash against Mumbai Indians and grabbed a brilliant reflex catch to dismiss MI batter, Amelia Kerr, for a golden duck. The ball was moving away from Lee, but she kept her eyes on the ball and her catch ended Kerr’s one-ball stay.

The ball was travelling fast and the DC keeper had to make a quick judgement, which she did to perfection in the second over of the contest.

DC keeper plucks a stunner to dismiss Amelia Kerr

Even before Kerr could get her eyes in, Delhi Capitals pacer, Chinelle Henry, got rid of her as the fast bowler delivered a dream ball to dismiss the MI opener. She bowled a fuller-length ball that moved away from Kerr as the opener played away from the body.

There was a clear outside edge towards the right of Lizelle Lee, and the DC keeper stretched towards the ball as it burst out of her hands, but the South African had the presence of mind as she took it on her second attempt while tumbling on the ground.

This was Kerr’s second successive failure as she managed to score only 4 against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Friday.

Amelia Kerr's terrible start to WPL 2026

MI bought Amelia Kerr for one crore in the WPL mega auction last year, and the expectations were high as the White Ferns player had done well for MI last season. Heading into WPL 2026 season, she was in form, but the first two matches have shown that even the most in-form players can struggle sometimes.

In the clash vs RCB, Kerr had a torrid time as she failed to deliver the goods and could only score 4 off 15 balls with a strike rate of 26 before Lauren Bell got her wicket. She was expected to perform against DC, but Henry had her number as Lee plucked a stunner and the New Zealand player had successive WPL failures.
