After Pakistan’s T20I series victory, the three-format contest between Pakistan and South Africa now comes down to the ODI series, which begins on November 4 at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad. The live action for the first ODI will start at 3:30 PM IST.

Pakistan

The hosts are set to play the first ODI against South Africa after a confident T20I series win. Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam will be at the top, shouldering the batting responsibilities. Salman Agha will play under Shaheen Afridi’s leadership this time, with Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah also included in the squad.

Saim Ayub has faced a series of failures but might be given another chance in the first match. The bowling unit will be led by Mohammad Wasim, Abrar Ahmed, Faheem Ashraf, and Haris Rauf, along with the skipper, as Pakistan aim to start the match on a strong note.

South Africa

South Africa will play under captain Matthew Breetzke, with Tony de Zorzi and Quinton de Kock forming the backbone of a strong batting lineup. Dewald Brevis will be responsible for providing explosive and aggressive innings, while all-rounders like Corbin Bosch and George Linde will add balance to the side.

The bowling unit, featuring Ottneil Baartman, Bjorn Fortuin, and Lungi Ngidi, will be key to troubling Pakistan on their home soil.

The pitch at Iqbal Stadium is typically covered with grass, making it a batting paradise.
