Former South African fast bowler Makhaya Ntini hilariously jumped on a fan for taking a one-handed catch during a recent SA20 game. However, he accidentally ruined the fan’s intimate moment with his partner.
The SA20 2025-26 season kicked off on December 26 in Cape Town. On day two, Pretoria Capitals took on Joburg Super Kings at Centurion with a packed crowd waiting to enjoy some action.
Makhaya Ntini’s reaction to the SA20 catch saga goes viral
Batting first, Wiaan Mulder of Joburg Super Kings hammered 43 off 28 balls, including three fours and as many sixes. His sixes didn’t just get runs for his team.
It also earned a couple of fans R2 million. In SA20, any fan can claim a share of R2 million by taking a clean one-handed catch off a six during any of the league’s matches.
Two fans managed to pull off the one-handed stunt at Centurion, out of which one fan immediately hugged and kissed his partner to celebrate the moment.
However, ex-Proteas pacer Makhaya Ntini was more excited than the fan himself. He hilariously ran through the crowd and jumped on the fan, unknowingly spoiling the intimate moment.
Not only that, but Ntini also lost his balance in his euphoria and had a harmless fall. The entire moment was caught on camera, leaving fans and commentators in splits.
Many appreciated Ntini’s enthusiasm and warm nature, while some called him out for ruining someone’s intimate moment.
Capitals fail against Jansen's four-wicket-spree
Meanwhile, after Mulder’s blitz, the Joburg Super Kings posted 168 runs on the board. Pretoria Capitals, however, could score only 146 runs in the chase after Duan Jansen claimed a stunning four-wicket-haul.
Bryce Parsons accumulated 41 off 30 balls and built a 71-run opening partnership with Will Smeed, but a middle-order collapse spoilt the Capitals’ momentum, and eventually they fell short by 22 runs.
