Venkatesh Iyer Injured But KKR Calls Jason Roy As Impact Player In Place of Suyash Sharma

After conceding 179 through the hands of Punjab Kings (PBKS), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have made an impact substitution in the form of Jason Roy replacing leg-spinner Suyash Sharma for the rest of the match. However, a bigger issue has struck them with Venkatesh Iyer sustaining an ankle injury that resulted in him sitting out during the first innings.

But KKR has gone against the idea of replacing him which means he can come out to bat but only after the completion of 10 overs or 10:04 PM IST whichever is earliest.

This scenario can hurt them very badly if they lose quick wickets in the powerplay only considering Iyer would only be able to come after a certain period.

Roy has been in terrific form for the Knight Riders after being roped in as a replacement for Shakib-Al-Hasan. In four matches, he played before this game, the Englishmen struck two half-centuries while keeping his strike rate around 160.

By the time this article was published, KKR were 20 for no loss after the completion of three overs with Jason Roy and Rahmanullah Gurbaz at the crease.
