After a thriller at Eden Park in the first T20I, West Indies went 1–0 up in the series and will look to extend their lead. The two teams will meet again on November 6 for the 2nd T20I at 11:45 AM IST, with the match scheduled to take place at Eden Park in Auckland.

New Zealand

New Zealand will look to regroup after a disappointing batting display, with Mark Chapman, Michael Bracewell, and Daryl Mitchell failing to make an impact. The middle order needs urgent correction, while openers Finn Allen and Devon Conway must also step up with the bat.

Only Mitchell Santner showed resistance with a valiant 55, but his effort went in vain as New Zealand fell short by 7 runs. Trailing in the five-match series, the Kiwis will now aim to bounce back strongly in the second T20I.

West Indies

In the first T20I, Shai Hope’s fifty rescued West Indies from a precarious 43/4, helping the Caribbeans post a total of 164 on the board with valuable contributions from Roston Chase and Rovman Powell.

In reply, Jaden Seales and Roston Chase starred with the ball, taking three wickets each to restrict New Zealand to 157. Riding high on confidence after their opening win, West Indies will look to seal the series in the second T20I.

NZ vs WI head-to-head overview in T20Is

New Zealand and the West Indies have had some interesting battles, facing off in 21 matches overall. In those 21 T20I games, the West Indies have managed to win 6 times, while New Zealand has taken the lead with 10 wins. There were also 2 matches that didn’t finish, and 3 ended in ties, with the West Indies winning 2 of those tiebreakers.

Eden Park Auckland pitch report

The Eden Park outfield pitch is pretty great for batting overall because it's nice and flat, which leads to plenty of high scores. Bowlers can find it tough. Though, pacers might get a little movement with the new ball, but they really have to work hard for it.

Spinners have a rough time at the start too, but as the game goes on, they can start to get some help from the pitch. If captains win the toss here, it’s usually a good idea to bowl first to take advantage of that early assistance.
