Hosts New Zealand and visitors Bangladesh will face each other in the third and final One-Day International (ODI), in which the Tom Latham-led XI have gained an unassailable 2-0 lead.  The final ODI will be played at iconic McLean Park in Napier, before the action shifts into T20 mode for the final leg of Bangladesh's white-ball tour.

Despite what the scoreline suggests, New Zealand have been challenged in the ongoing three-ODI series, where the hosts have seemingly rested their star and experienced players.

Opener Will Young has been the star performer for the Black Caps, scoring 194 runs in two outings, with able support coming from other players like Henry Nicholls, and Latham. The Kiwi bowling has been spearheaded by the young William ORourke (leading wicket-taker), while Jacob Duffy, Josh Clarkson, and Adam Milne have showcased their skills to perfection.

A  series clean sweep could do wonders to the confidence several young players, who have just started their international journey.

Bangladesh

Bangladesh should be mighty proud of their performances in both the ODIs, where they were in play in various places but failed to gasp on key moments. 

The batting has been ably led by Soumya Sarkar, who shined in the second ODI claiming a career-best 196. Sadly, Sarkar has failed to find any major support from other batters, who despite starts have not kicked on and converted big scores. The bowling, too, has looked weak mostly with only Shoriful Islam providing some challenge to Kiwi batters. 

The inability of spinners to pick wickets has been a major issue, with lack of helpful conditions only adding to the misery. A win could instill pride back into the side, and head home with heads held high.
