SRH vs RR IPL 2025: Captains' Thoughts

Riyan Parag (Rajasthan Royals Captain): We are going to bowl first. Looks like a dry wicket. There might be dew settling in later in the evening and we will have a crack later on. It means a lot. Feels great to lead such a good franchise. I started here as a 17-year-old. Getting to fill in big shoes, very excited. The impact player rule helps with Sanju Samson. We have retained a lot of our core. Jofra, Fazalhaq and Theekshana are in. Sandeep Sharma also playing. We want to start well. You always need to start on the right note. We have practised well."

Pat Cummins (Sunrisers Hyderabad Captain): "It's great to be back. Doesn't feel like we are coming back after a year. The core group is the same, the coaching staff is the same. It looks like a good wicket. We do not mind bowling second.

It will be nice to breach the record. We always encourage the guys to play with freedom. We have someone like Ishan coming in as well as some other young players. It's pretty exciting. Just go out there and have some fun. Abhi and Heady will continue their opening partnership from last year. Ishan, Nitish, Klaas, Aniket is playing his first game, Abhinav as well. So yeah it feels like we have few young players."
