After defeating India comprehensively in the first game, it was all trouble for the visiting New Zealand side in the 2nd T20I when they couldn't even reach 100 runs after the end of their 20 overs.

The turning track proved too difficult to bat as the Kiwis could only score 99 runs for the loss of eight wickets as the spin choke strangle held them. The quartet of Washington Sundar, Deepak Hooda, Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav were too good as they were almost next to impossible to clear.

Meanwhile, after putting just 99 on the board, the Mitchell Santner-led side achieved an unwanted record. This is now their lowest-ever total against the Men in Blue in T20I cricket as they scored 12 less than their previous worst which was 111.

BlackCaps' could only manage 111 against India during the year 2021 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata which they lost by 73 runs.

Furthermore, their lowest score ever in the shortest format against Bangladesh was in 2016 when they were bowled out for a paltry 60.

Moreover, this was the ninth time Kiwis weren't able to reach the three-figure mark which keeps them in second position after Bangladesh who are in first place with 10 occurrences.

Coming back to the match, India are 9 for no loss after the end of two overs.
