Experienced Pakistan seamer Naseem Shah had a forgettable outing in Lahore Blues' ongoing National T20 Cup encounter against Karachi Whites at Gaddafi Stadium. Opening the bowling for Lahore, Naseem put up a horrible performance, going wicketless in his four-over spell.
Naseem Shah Smacked For 41 Runs In 4-Over Spell
Lahore Blues captain Hussain Talat won the toss and opted to bowl first against Saud Shakeel-led Karachi Whites. Naseem, who was initially reported to miss the tournament, provided a massive boost to Lahore by confirming his availability for this match.
However, although he was expected to play a significant role for the Blues, Naseem registered another failure in the shortest format, conceding 41 runs in his four-over spell.
Furthermore, despite bowling 24 deliveries, Naseem couldn't pick up a single wicket in the match. While his inconsistent line and length favoured the Whites, his inability to strike at crucial junctures frustrated the Lahore-based team.
It's worth mentioning that Naseem recently lost his place from the T20I team following a string of failures in the shortest format. However, he has been included in Pakistan's squad for the New Zealand ODIs, which he will likely play after the conclusion of the ongoing T20I series.
Saud Shakeel's Fifty Powers Karachi To A Challenging Total
Meanwhile, skipper Saud Shakeel hammered a blistering fifty, ensuring a respectable score for his team. His 73-run knock, studded with eight fours and three sixes, powered Karachi Whites to 171 in 20 overs.
