MLC Draft 2023: Full List of Squads and Players Picked ft. Aaron Finch And Anrich Nortje

With cricket taking a historic step in the right direction by entering the prized United States of America market, the launch of Major League Cricket (MLC) is the gateway to that path.

The six-team tournament has been in the plan for the past few years which will finally see daylight33 in July this year.

To select the players for the sides namely MI New York, Seattle Orcas, Los Angeles Knight Riders, Team Texas, Washington Freedom and San Francisco Unicorns, a draft was conducted where nine domestic players were picked up by each side whereas the foreign players will be signed before the league begins.

Therefore, here's the list of all the players picked by each side in the draft:

Seattle Orcas: Harmeet Singh, Shehan Jayasuriya, Shubham Ranjani, Cameron Gannon, Aaron Jones, Nauman Anwar, Phani Simhadri, Angelo Perera, Matthew Tromp 

Washington Freedom: Andries Gous, Mukhtar Ahmed, Obus Pienaar, Saurabh Netravalkar, Saad Ali, Dane Piedt, Sujith Gowda, Justin Dill, Akhilesh Bodugum 

MI New York: Steven Taylor, Hammad Azam, Ehsan Adil, Nosthush Henjige, Monank Patel, Sarbjeet Ladda, Shayan Jahangir, Usman Rafiq, Saideep Ganesh 

San Francisco Unicorns: Corey Anderson, Liam Plunkett, Tajinder Singh, Chaitanya Bishnoi, Carmi Le Roux, Brody Couch, David White, Smit Patel, Sanjay Krishnamurthi 

Los Angeles Knight Riders: Ali Khan, Unmukt Chand, Jaskaran Malhotra, Nitish Kumar, Corne Dry, Ali Sheikh, Saif Badar, Shadley Van Schalkwyk, Bhaskar Yadram 

Team Texas: Rusty Theron, Calvin Savage, Lahiru Milantha, Milind Kumar, Sami Aslam, Cameron Stevenson, Cody Chetty, Zia Shahzad, Saiteja Mukkamalla

However, the big talking point was the appointment of various overseas players during the draft itself as some of franchises revealed their signings that included some high-profile names.

Seattle Orcas signed Quinton de Kock and Mitchell Marsh as their picks whereas Washington Freedom choose Anrich Nortje and Wanindu Hasaranga to play for them during the inaugural season.

On the other hand, San Francisco Unicorns drafted Aussie duo of Aaron Finch and Marcus Stoinis as their recruits.
