Just when everything was going strong for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru against Sunrisers Hyderabad, one huge blunder led to the wicket of RCB captain Rajat Patidar. Patidar headed into this match on the back of an injury he suffered Vs CSK. As a result, Jitesh Sharma led the side against SRH, with Patidar coming in as impact player.

The terrible mixup between Captain and Vice-Captain

Chasing a mammoth 232, RCB had Jitesh and Patidar at the crease as things looked in control. However, one lapse of concentration led to the wicket of Patidar. The incident occurred in the 16th over when Eshan Malinga bowled in a yorker and Patidar played it to short cover. He called in for a single, but there was a slight miscommunication between the two batters.

This was enough for Malinga to dislodge the bails as he quickly moves towards the ball and threw it towards the non strikers end to end Patidar's scratchy stay. After the wicket, Patidar looked disgusted with his partner as it was Jitesh's call for a single.

The wicket led to a flurry of dismissals as Romario Shepherd, Tim David and Jitesh himself were dismissed in quick successions.

RCB humbled by SRH

RCB elected to bowl first and the decision back-fired as Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head tore apart the RCB bowlers. Once the platform was set, it was time for a Ishan Kishan show as the out of form batter smacked an unbeaten 94 off 48 as he helped the team post a mammoth 231 and the target was a bit too enough for the RCB side to chase.
