Pat Cummins is a mastermind when it comes to captaincy and in the IPL clash between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the SRH skipper showed his captaincy skills and his introduction of Harsh Dubey changed the tides in the early tussle in the RCB chase.

RCB needed a mammoth 232 to win the match and keep their top-2 hopes alive. For that, they needed a solid start and Virat Kohli provided just that. While Phil Salt was struggling from one end, Kohli ensured that the required rate never climbed up as he went hammer and tongs and took down the SRH attack with ease.

How Cummins' masterclass led to Kohli's wicket

In the blink of an eye, he raced away to 43 off 25 and was etching closer to his fifty-run mark when Cummins played his master stroke. He introduced Harsh Dubey, the left-arm spinner and it led to Kohli's wicket.

Kohli has a weakness against left-arm spinners and Dubey got the prized wicket in his first over itself.

As the data suggests, Kohli struggles against left-arm spinners and Cummins utilised it to perfection. Just as the power-play ended, Dubey came into the attack and on the last ball of his over, Kohli went for a slash and found the fielder at backward point.

With a strike rate of 116 and 17 dismissals, spinner obviously had the upper hand over Kohli and the tactical call led to his massive wicket against SRH at a crucial juncture. Against Dubey, Kohli never looked comfortable and threw his wicket away.
