Joins Ravindra Jadeja in rare all-round feat
Mehidy’s century also brought with it a monumental personal milestone as he became only the 23rd player in Test history to achieve 2000 runs and 200 wickets.
Having already reached the 200-wicket mark in the first Test of the series in Sylhet, where he bagged a stunning 10-wicket haul, Mehidy entered this Test just 36 runs short of the 2000-run landmark.
By achieving the feat in his 53rd Test match, Mehidy equals India’s Ravindra Jadeja as the joint-fifth fastest cricketer to the iconic double in Test history. Only Ian Botham (42 Tests), Kapil Dev (50), Imran Khan (50), and Shaun Pollock (52) reached the mark quicker.
