After securing a fighting victory in the first game, Australia will lock horns with South Africa in the second ODI of the ongoing five-match series today at 4.30 PM IST. The riveting contest between two extremely competitive units will be hosted by the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein.

In the first match, South Africa posted a respectable total of 222 runs, thanks to a gritty century from skipper Temba Bavuma. In response, Australia crumbled to 113 for seven before concussion sub Marnus Labuschagne led them to a miraculous victory through a memorable knock of 80* runs.

So, as both teams gear up for another exciting encounter, we provide you with the pitch report of the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein.

Mangaung Oval Bloemfontein Pitch Report

The surface at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein has traditionally been a batting beauty. But the first game between Australia and South Africa witnessed a low-scoring thriller, as the track offered challenging batting conditions.

There was some variable bounce throughout the match, with the batters from both sides struggling to play shots freely. The ball stayed low as well as kicked off from back of the length area at times, making it tough for the batters to time it. It was a slightly slow deck, a trait we don't often associate with the South African pitches. The spinners, particularly Adam Zampa, got significant turn in the afternoon as well.

However, when the weather became cooler, the pitch gained some pace at night and Marnus Labuschagne played some perfectly timed shots. So, we expect a dry and two-paced track in Bloemfontein, which will gradually get better for batting in the evening.

Therefore, the batters must spend some time in the middle to score runs, with the toss-winning team expected to bowl first.
