The Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2023 resumes after a two-day break when Dambulla Aura clashes against Galle Titans in Match 14 on Friday at R Premadasa in Colombo. Aura are comfortably placed in the second position with six points, while Titans languish at the bottom with 4.

The Kusal Mendis-led Dambulla Aura are on a two-match winning streak and will look to cash in on their new-found momentum.  Apart from leading the side, Mendis has also been the backbone of the batting, apart from Sadeera Samarawickrama and Dhananjaya de Silva who have scored heavily for the franchise so far.

The inclusion of Pakistan pacer Hasan Ali into the XI has made a drastic change, bringing variation into the bowling, which is spearheaded by Binura Fernando.

Galle Titans

On the flipside, Galle Titans captained by Dasun Shanaka have notched up hattrick of defeats, and find themselves at the bottom. Tim Seifert and Shevon Daniel have managed to keep the side afloat, with their explosive batting, while others have failed to live-up. The bowling is the strong suit for the Titans, with Shakib Al Hasan, Tabraiz Shamsi and Kasun Rajitha firing on all cylinders.

Any further slip-ups, will it tough for the Galle franchise to climb up the ladder, and qualify having already played five matches.
