Anshul Kamboj, the Haryana and Chennai Super Kings pacer, got his dream breakthrough, as the fast bowler was handed a debut cap ahead of the 4th Test match in Manchester vs England. With so many injuries in the Indian camp, Kamboj flew to England, and within few days was given his Test debut in a do-or-die game for India.
Kamboj has big shoes to fill in, as the expectations are high and with the conditions favouring fast bowlers, immediate wickets are expected of him. However, he is not the first Indian pacer to get his first Test breakthrough in England.
Before Anshul Kamboj, there have been several Indian fast bowlers who have made their red-ball debut in England, and here is a list of it.

(Indian pacers who have debuted in England)
- Out of all the pacers in the list, three made their Test debut during the 1932 tour of England - mainly Nissar Khan. Amar Singh, and Jahangir Khan. This was before India got its independence.
- The notable names, who made a name for themselves, include Madan Lal, who also went on to win the 1983 World Cup, and was a key pacer for the Kapil Dev-led side. Venkatesh Prasad, the Karnataka pacer, made his Test debut on the same tour where Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly were first introduced to the cricketing world. The tour also saw the debut of future India bowling coach, Paras Mhambrey.
- Pankaj Singh made his debut under MS Dhoni's guidance during the 2014 Test match at Southampton, but the pacer failed to deliver the goods. The latest fast bowler to join the illustrious list is Anshul Kamboj, who has the big responsibility to deliver for India, as the team management showed faith in him, and flew him from India to UK, and instantly gave him the deserving debut cap.
