Day 2 of the Lanka Premier League 2022 on December 7 will again witness a doubleheader being played at Hambantota. Here's the preview of both exciting matches of Sri Lanka's premier T20 tournament. 

Match 3: Dambulla Giants vs Jaffna Kings

Dambulla Giants will be up against the challenge of Jaffna Kings in Match 3 of the Lanka Premier League 2022. It will the first game of the season for Giants, who are led by Dasun Shanaka. On the other hand, Kings posted 137 against Galle Gladiators and won by 24 runs.

Key Players

  • Dhananjaya de Silva - The elegant batter looked in sublime touch in his impressive knock of 29 off 19 balls in the first game. In this game, Silva is expected to convert his starts into big innings. 
  • Sikandar Raza - The swashbuckling all-rounder has over 3,000 runs and more than 70 wickets in the T20 format. 

Prediction

Jaffna Kings possesses a power-packed batting line-up, who hold a rich experience in the shortest format. Furthermore, Kings are likely to edge out Giants on the basis of bowling unit as well. 

Match 4: Galle Gladiators vs Kandy Falcons

Galle Gladiators will face the challenge of Kandy Falcons in the Match 4 of LPL 2022. In their first game, Gladiators lost by 24 runs against Jaffna Kings. The Falcons won by 109 runs against Colombo Stars. 

Key Players

  • Wanindu Hasaranga - The ace spinner finished with figures of 4/14 in three overs in the first game of the season. In this process, he picked a hat-trick as well. 
  • Kusal Mendis - He emerged as the top-scorer in the last edition with 327 runs in 10 innings. In the first outing of this season, Kusal hit 51 off 43. 

Prediction

Kandy Falcons have an experienced top-order and a quality bowling unit, which helped them to open their account with a big victory.  They are expected to prevail over Gladiators and continue the rich form in the tournament.
