Riding on scintillating fifties from Milind Kumar and Tajinder Singh and a sensational spell from Scott Kuggeleijn, Chicago Kingsmen crushed Pakistan Shaheens by 69 runs in the 17th league-stage match of the ongoing Top End T20 tournament. Chasing 207 runs, the Shaheens were restricted to 137 for eight, losing the game comprehensively.

Pakistan Shaheens won the toss and opted to bowl first in the high-voltage encounter against Chicago Kingsmen. Sharjeel Khan and Shehan Jayasuriya recorded failures, getting dismissed for single-digit scores. While Shayan Jahangir contributed 30 runs to the total, Milind Kumar and Tajinder Singh smashed stunning half-centuries, ensuring a solid total for their side.

Mohammad Wasim Jr, who recently made it into Pakistan's Asia Cup squad, conceded 57 runs in his four overs. He scalped two wickets, while Saad Masood and Shahid Aziz took one wicket each.

In response, Pakistan Shaheens' opening batter Yasir Khan got going right from the start, dominating the Kingsmen bowling attack with his stroke-play. However, he steadily ran out of partners, as New Zealand's premier fast bowler Scott Kuggeleijn dismantled the Shaheens' lineup with a three-wicket haul.

Skipper Irfan Khan Niazi struck 24 runs off 18 balls with the help of two boundaries and a six, but that could only reduce the margin of defeat. Wasim Jr and Ubaid Shah played quick-fire cameos, with Pakistan Shaheens eventually finishing their innings on 137 for eight in 20 overs.

Thus, the Pakistani contingent went on to lose the match by 69 runs, incurring their second defeat in four matches. On the other hand, the Chicago Kingsmen maintained their top spot in the points table and will face the Australian Capital Territory in the 20th match of the competition.
