The Edgbaston crowd witnessed a cracking Day 2 morning as India continued to dominate with the bat, thanks to Shubman Gill and Ravindra Jadeja. While Gill was all class with his strokeplay, one moment from the session had fans and players in splits.

Shubman Gill Mocks Ben Stokes’ Field Placements In 2nd ENG vs IND Test

As England captain Ben Stokes kept switching his field like he was playing musical chairs, Gill couldn't hold back and turned to Jadeja mid-pitch with a grin, saying, “Kuch bhi laga raha hai, kuch bhi.”

The comment, clearly poking fun at Stokes’ chaotic placements, instantly went viral with even the stump mic catching the banter.

At one point, Stokes had a midwicket, a square leg, two deep midwickets, a deep backward square and a fine leg, all stacked up on the leg-side. It looked more like a gully cricket set-up from a Sunday park game than an actual Test match field.

Clearly rattled by India’s strong position, Stokes was throwing the kitchen sink to break the sixth-wicket stand between Gill and Jadeja. But Gill and Jaddu were in cruise control.

Gill And Jadeja Grind England Into The Ground

Shubman Gill continued his golden run, smashing a brilliant 150 while Jadeja kept rotating strike and finding boundaries at will. Together, they stitched a 203-run partnership for the sixth wicket, frustrating England’s bowlers and fielders alike.

With Gill taunting field placements and Jadeja doing the damage with the bat, the duo made sure England were chasing shadows all morning.

England Clutching At Straws In The Field

Stokes, known for his aggressive instincts, looked like he was trying to manufacture a wicket out of thin air. His tactics were bold, maybe too bold. But on a flat deck and against two set batters, nothing worked. Every new field seemed more bizarre than the last and even the commentators were left scratching their heads.
