On Saturday, December 6, India and South Africa locked horns for the third and final ODI of the three-match series. It is a crucial game for both sides as the series is on the line. For the ongoing game, India finally ended their toss curse and won the coin flip to field first.

It was a joyous moment as India last won a toss in ODIs on November 15, 2023, which was the World Cup semi-final. It has been over two years, and fortune has not favoured India when it comes to toss. However, the curse was eventually broken, and there was a ritual associated with it.

The entire 15-minute segment was no less than a cinematic movie, filled with new rituals, celebrations and congratulations over a toss that had not gone their way in two years. Let's look at the rituals.

1. KL Rahul walks in style

At first, KL Rahul was all jolly and happy before the toss and made a stylish entry, with a unique walk that looked like a south Indian movie character. He walked like a boss and was all happy making his way to the crease.

2. Coin flip with a left hand

Interestingly, India had lost 20 straight tosses in ODIs before this game, and for the ongoing match, KL Rahul had actually flipped the coin from his left hand. Usually, they say that the right hand brings fortune, but KL loves it differently, and the luck arrived with the left hand, and the trick did wonders.

3. Bavuma smiles, KL throws a punch in the air

As soon as KL found out that India had won the toss, he smiled and threw a punch in the air in celebration. Meanwhile, South Africa captain Temba Bavuma stood there in admiration and smiled at Rahul's antics.

4. Harshit Rana and the rest of the Indian camp celebrate

It was a moment to cherish and celebrate as the Indian camp too had its eyes on the toss. As soon as they learned that the toss went in Rahul's favour, the celebrations began, and Harshit Rana, Arshdeep Singh, and Rishabh Pant, who were on the pitch, were dancing in joy, followed by laughs and giggles.

5. Morne Morkel celebrates with KL Rahul

Finally, as soon as Rahul started to walk back, India's bowling coach Morne Morkel approached KL and congratulated him for winning the toss and the right-handed batter also explained his new tactic to win the toss.
