England are on course for a comfortable win in the first Test, as openers Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett stitched together a 188-run opening stand while chasing 371 runs. The visitors struggled for a breakthrough and had to wait until the 43rd over to draw first blood. However, one wicket quickly brought another, as the Three Lions also lost Ollie Pope in the 45th over.

With captain Shubman Gill and the vice-captain both on the field, Rahul stepped up as a leader and helped the team secure two crucial breakthroughs.

Thanks to KL’s proactive approach, the Indian bowlers have triggered a collapse. Shardul Thakur took two wickets in two balls, dismissing Ben Duckett and the dangerous Harry Brook, who had missed a century by just one run in the first innings.

Nasser Hussain Hails KL Rahul

After Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma's Test retirement, KL Rahul is the most-experienced player in the team. Meanwhile, former England captain Nasser Hussain, who was part of the commentary panel, also hailed Rahul's leadership skills.

"If you look at the field now and ask who is captaining, it will be KL Rahul. He has done all the hand signals, all the field settings. The change is evident," said former England captain Nasser Hussain in commentary.
