The year 2025 has been stupendous for Indian opener KL Rahul, as he has been the man for the crisis for the Asian giants. He was outstanding in the away Test tour of England, scoring two centuries and helping his team level the series, 2-2 as KL scored more than 500-plus runs to cement his place as one of the most reliable batter.
On Day 1 of the second Test between India and the West Indies, KL Rahul etched his name in the record books as he joined Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in an elite run-scoring list in the WTC cycle - he became the seventh Indian batter to amass 2,000 runs in the history of WTC.
Before the start of the match, KL Rahul needed 16 runs to enter the honours list, and he achieved the feat in style, smashing back-to-back fours of Jayden Seals in the ninth over. Rishabh Pant, who is out with an injury, sits at the top of the list, with 2731 runs in WTC history for India.
