After his snub from the T20I Asia Cup squad, Babar Azam, the star Pakistan batter, is back in the Test squad for the series against South Africa. The batter will be eager to prove his doubters wrong as Pakistan embarks on a fresh WTC journey, with the first assignment against the defending WTC champions.

The series will be played at home and this allows Babar to pile on truckloads of runs on batting-friendly decks, and also he has a chance to attain three huge records in the upcoming two-match Tests vs South Africa.

Records Babar can break in Test series vs South Africa

Most runs for PAK Vs SA across formats

In the upcoming Tests, Babar Azam has a chance to reach a special milestone vs the South Africans. If the star batter slams 315 runs in four innings of the Test series, then he would surpass Younis Khan to become the Pakistan batter with the most runs across formats vs the Proteas.

Currently, Younis, the former captain, has 2042 runs, while Babar has accumulated 1727 runs. He will have four innings (2 Tests) to break the record set by the great batter.

Most Test fifties for PAK Vs SA in Tests

Currently, Babar stands alongside Inzamam-ul-Haq as the Pakistan batter with the most Test fifties vs South Africa (6 each). If he gets to yet another fifty-run mark, then the 30-year-old will surpass Inzamam to have the most fifty-plus scores against the WTC champions.

Most hundreds at home across formats

Babar, if he gets back to his run-machine mode, could break several records, and one of them could be the most hundreds at home across formats. He currently has 15 tons at home, and if he gets to another century-mark, then Babar would become the Pakistan batter with the third most centuries at home (16).

Currently, the record is held by Mohammad Yousuf, who has 19 hundreds to his name, and Babar is not far away.
