The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League is now at its business end. With the league table taking its final shape, each games becomes vital to the survival of the teams in the tournament.
At this juncture of the tournament, Kolkata Knight Riders will face the Rajasthan Royals in the 53rd game of the tournament. The match will be a crucial one for the home team as they still have a chance of qualification in the play-offs.
Position In The Points Table
Kolkata Knight Riders have played 10 matches in the tournament already. They have won four of these games and lost five with one of their matches been abandoned due to rain. Currently, the Knight Riders are stationed at the seventh spot in the points table.
In order to keep their chances of play-offs qualification alive, KKR need to win three of their four remaining games. If the match between KKR and RR gets called off due to rain, then the chances for the defending champions to make it to the play-offs will get diminished. So, this match will be key for the Ajinkya Rahane-led side.
On the other hand are the Rajasthan Royals. They have lost eight of their 11 games and have already been eliminated from the tournament.

Dark Clouds Room Over KKR's Play-Off Chances
The match between KKR and RR will be an afternoon match. As reported by AccuWeather, there are chances of thunderstorm during the game. The weather report suggests that there is a 25% chance of rain.
The concerning factor is that as evening grows the chances of rain increases. The drainage system at the Eden Gardens is quite good and could be ranked as one of the best in the country. So, if there is partial rain interruption during the game, there is a chance that the outfield dries quickly and becomes game ready within a short time.
