Lahore Qalandars brought the heat to Karachi on Tuesday night, handing the home side a thumping 65-run defeat in Match 6 of PSL 2025 at the National Stadium. After setting a formidable total of 201/6, thanks to a fireworks-filled partnership between Fakhar Zaman and Daryl Mitchell, the Qalandars bowlers came out all guns blazing.

Shaheen Afridi led from the front with a stunning opening spell, while Rishad Hossain and Sikandar Raza made sure there was no way back for the Kings. Despite some late hitting from Khushdil Shah and Hasan Ali, the match was done and dusted well before the final over.

Here’s the timeline of how KAR vs LAH panned out in Karachi-

Fakhar Zaman And Daryl Mitchell Take Charge After Early Jolts

Lahore Qalandars didn’t have the smoothest start as they lost Mohammad Naeem (7) and Abdullah Shafique (6) inside the Powerplay. But then came the fireworks. Fakhar Zaman, looking in fine touch, steadied the ship before shifting gears in typical Fakhar style.

He smashed 76 off 47 balls with 6 fours and 5 sixes, giving the innings the acceleration it desperately needed. On the other end, Daryl Mitchell looked just as dangerous.

The Kiwi batter played a blistering knock of 75 off 41 as he peppered the boundary with 9 fours and 2 sixes. The pair stitched together a game-defining partnership of 125 runs, putting Lahore in the driver’s seat after a dismal start.

Late Cameos From Billings And Raza Lift Qalandars Past 200

Once Fakhar and Mitchell fell in quick succession, it looked like Lahore might slow down. But Sam Billings had other ideas as he hammered a quick 19 off 10 before being dismissed.

Sikandar Raza chipped in with a quickfire 10* off just 5 balls. Even though the finishing touches weren’t explosive, it was enough to get Lahore past the 200 mark.

Shaheen Afridi And Rishad Hossain Rip Through The Batting Order

Karachi Kings' run chase got derailed before it even began, thanks to an explosive opening spell from Shaheen Afridi. The skipper removed both David Warner and James Vince for ducks in the first over, setting the tone with raw pace and deadly swing.

Things went from bad to worse as Rishad Hossain joined the party, picking up Shan Masood, Irfan Khan, and Abbas Afridi, breaking the back of Karachi’s middle order. With wickets tumbling at regular intervals, Karachi were staring at the scoreboard in disbelief at 50/7 inside 10 overs.

Khushdil Shah And Hasan Ali Fight Back But Too Late

Amid the collapse, Khushdil Shah tried to mount a counterattack with a spirited 39 off 27, cracking 4 boundaries and 2 sixes to keep the Kings alive. He found brief support from Hasan Ali, who chipped in with a handy 27 off 25, and Adam Milne, who added a quick 16 off 7. But the damage had already been done.

Sikandar Raza picked up two late wickets and Lahore Qalandars wrapped up the innings for 136 in 19.1 overs, sealing a thumping 65-run win and sending Karachi back to the drawing board.
