It was a night to remember at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai as Jemimah Rodrigues played the innings of her life, leading India Women to a sensational win over Australia Women in the second semifinal of the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. The right-handed batter scored 127 not out off 134 balls, striking 14 boundaries at a strike rate of 94.78, as India successfully chased down a massive 339-run target.

The chase looked difficult openers Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana failed to contribute much. But then Jemimah and captain Harmanpreet Kaur, (who scored 89 runs off 88 balls) made an game-changing 167-run partnership for the third wicket, which kept India’s hopes alive.

Emotions overflow in the dressing room

Following India’s thrilling win, the BCCI shared an emotional video from the dressing room. The clip captured the heartwarming celebrations of the Indian team. The video showed Sneh Rana hugging Jemimah Rodrigues tightly and saying, “So much proud of you.”

The room erupted in cheers as teammates surrounded Jemimah, clapping, smiling, and taking pictures with the star of the night. The emotions were visible, tears, laughter, and pride all  together as the team soaked in the moment.

Jemimah smiled warmly and thanked her teammates for their constant support and it would not be wrong to say that Rodrigues received a 'Hero' like welcome in the Indian dressing room.

At just 25 years old, Jemimah Rodrigues has shown immense maturity. Talking a look at her overall stats, the star batter has played 3 Test matches and scored 235 runs at an average of 58.75. In ODIs, she has played 57 games and made 1725 runs at an average of 32.61, with 2 centuries and 8 fifties.

In T20Is, she has played 112 matches, scoring 2375 runs at an average of 30.06, including 13 half-centuries.

Having said all this, it can be said that the 'Women in Blue' are just one step away from lifting the trophy. India Women have booked their place in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 Final, where they will face South Africa Women on November 2, 2025.
