Gujarat Titans

Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans would look to bounce back to their winning ways, as there campaign has been rocked straight to the ground. Currently placed at the last spot, it is a do or die game for them as if they fail secure a victory against Chennai Super Kings they would meet the same fate that Mumbai Indians did.

In their last two outings against, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, the team has been absolutely demolished. RCB successfully chased down the mammoth total of 200 in just 16 overs and in the next game, GT saw a massive collapse and somehow managed to crawl to the total of 147 runs on the board before being bowled out in 19.3 overs, RCB chased down this in just 13.4 overs.

A campaign that started with rainbows was quick to run down to the mud. In their upcoming game, they have a lot of concerns to delve into, the fact that Wriddhiman Saha hasn't not been too much of a help with the bat is a big red flag for the team along with captain Shubman who was last year's orange cap holder but this season is not even in Top 10 highest IPL run scorers.

Sai Sudarshan and Shah Rukh Khan along with Rashid Khan have been helpful when it comes to boosting the total or during chasing. But the bowlers on the other hand have not had a dreamy season, especially Mohit Sharma who has gone wicketless in couple of games and has leaked a lot of runs too. 

Chennai Super Kings

Chennai Super Kings have had a mix and match season. Currently placed at the fourth position, the defending champions with such cut-throat competition, would look to re-group and strategize better if they hope to make it to the playoffs. 

They successfully won their most recent outing against Punjab Kings by 28 runs in Dharamsala and would look to continue with their winning spree. However, the CSK camp has been marred by numerous injuries this season. 

First it was Deepak Chahar, who had to walk back during their game against PBKS due to his hamstring injury, and then Matheesha Pathirana. While, MS Dhoni continues to make his remarkable contributions both with the bat and behind the stumps, he is also in pain while suffering from muscle tear. Their top-pacer, Mustafizur Rahman has also travelled back to Bangladesh amid national duties. 

On the hand, the batting line-up has been quite fruitful Ruturaj Gaikwad, Daryl Mitchell look to be in great form. However, one big concern is Shivam Dube who has been a stunning player, but was dismissed for a duck in the previous two games, he needs to return to his obliterating form once again. Ajinkya Rahane has also not been impactful with the bat ever since his promotion. CSK would look to address all these issues in order to defeat GT at home.
