Pat Cummins against RCB in IPL 2024 (X.com)
The IPL 2024 is now moving towards the business end, and in the 41st match of the season, we have Sunrisers Hyderabad going up against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
This is a reverse-fixture and the last time these two sides met, Sunrisers plundered a record total of 287 and it would be interesting to see how RCB respond at Hyderabad.
SRH vs RCB: Team Previews
Sunrisers Hyderabad
Sunrisers Hyderabad have been one of the most entertaining teams of IPL 2024 and have plundered almost every team that has come their way. The opening duo of Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head has redefined Powerplay hitting and against DC in the last game, they scored 125 in first six overs. Heinrich Klaasen has provided those powerful finishing touches and with class of Aiden Markram too in the mix, SRH are a fearsome batting unit.
The Pat Cummins-led unit are coming into this game on the back of four consecutive wins, and the fact that they have shown the ability to come out on top in crunch situations, speaks a lot about the character of their team.
The pace trio of Pat Cummins, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and T Natarajan complement each other brilliantly while Mayank Markande has also delivered consistently. Washington Sundar was used in the last game as an Impact Player, but in this match we might see Umran Malik making a cut. Overall, SRH are a powerful unit and we can expect another strong performance from them at their home turf.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru
RCB, one of the most loved team in IPL are languishing at the bottom of the points table with just one win in eight matches. The bowling as always has been a major worry with even Mohammed Siraj giving away truckloads of runs at the death.
They have chopped and changed a lot throughout the season, and from the last few games, have gone with Will Jacks in place of Glenn Maxwell, which is likely to continue after the English batter smacked a fifty against KKR. Faf du Plessis and Rajat Patidar are also back in form but unless their bowlers do not join the party, it is hard to see RCB going past an in-form unit like SRH.
